Penn State World Campus ranked among Military Times ‘Best for Vets’ top picks


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania — Penn State has been recognized nationally for its online programs for veterans in the recently released Military Times “Best for Vets: Colleges” ranking, with Penn State World Campus No. 5 among schools Americans who primarily offer online education.

In the overall rankings, Penn State World Campus ranks 40th nationally and #1 in Pennsylvania.

Military Times, a media organization serving the military community, describes the “Best for Vets: Colleges” list as “the largest and most comprehensive ranking of schools for military and veterans.”

According to the Military Times website, this year’s methodology included responses from more than 300 schools to questions about services and programs specific to military students — whether active duty, veteran, or family and dependents. soldiers.

The Penn State World Campus hosted more than 2,600 Army-affiliated students during the fall 2021 semester who are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs and certificates. More than 400 military students have graduated so far in 2022.

Military students of all branches have access to the Penn State World Campus Military Support Team, many of whose members are veterans or military spouses. Students can also use specialized services to help support academic success while they are on active duty, deployed, or fulfilling other responsibilities.

Penn State World Campus also offers a military grants program to help make higher education more affordable and accessible to service members and their spouses in undergraduate degree programs. Military Grant-in-Aid reduces the cost of undergraduate tuition to $362 per credit and can be combined with funding offered through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance Program.
