WASHINGTON, February 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The WOW (Women On Work) contest was created to celebrate inspiring women in the credit union ecosystem who are doing extraordinary work to move the movement forward.

The contest is sponsored by CRMNEXT, CU Sol (a CUSO credit union) and America’s Credit Union Museum. In this inaugural year, the WOW contest is launched at the CUNA Government Affairs Conference (GAC) in washington d.c. to February 27and submissions will be accepted via May 6and2022.

Judge Happy Pateuk has a clear idea of ​​what she is looking for among the top 3 contest winners. “I’m thinking of someone who is persistent,” she says, “someone who is resilient, who has a little bit of humility – we learn best from those kinds of leaders – and someone who, in the end really did something transformative.”

Anne Legg is looking for specific strengths in 3 areas: leadership, impact on the industry as a whole, and how the individual “captures and spreads the spirit of the credit union”.

Each of our 5 esteemed judges will bring their own unique opinions to the table, but there are certain criteria points that, across the board, will be paramount. All nominees must work (or have worked) in the credit union ecosystem, and their contributions must have had a significant impact on the CU movement. Judges will also look for individuals who inspire, motivate and uplift other women in the industry, as well as those who have provided new opportunities for growth and development.

The first winner of the contest will be inducted into America’s Credit Union Museum’s Skywalk, and the three winners will have their names etched in history at the Museum with a cobblestone or brick. Winners will also receive a paid trip to the Museum for the induction ceremony, a cash prize or donation to the charity of their choice, and a crystal trophy, among other exciting prizes.
