While Disney World has come a long way since the start of the pandemic, there is still a long way to go to get theme parks back to normal functioning.
One of the biggest changes we continue to see is the lack of dating for health and safety reasons, which has led to character interactions at a distance. We have also seen parades replaced by much shorter but frequent cavalcades. Guests can greet their favorite character, then head to Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, or any attraction that calls for the next!
At EPCOT, we were originally only able to interact with Anna and Elsa in the Norway pavilion, as the other princesses were on the run. Lately we’ve started to see princesses like Aurora and Snow White interacting with guests as well, and now it looks like Disney World is embracing this motto when it comes to princesses instead of cavalcades.
The Princess Promenade Cavalcade is now removed from the Walt Disney World website, meaning that EPCOT no longer has any cavalcades available to visitors. Fortunately, the Princesses are apparently available to meet and greet each other periodically throughout the day in World Showcase, so guests can spend more time interacting with them as they appear!
If you were a fan of the princess cavalcade, don’t panic! Magic Kingdom still holds its princess cavalcade several times a day. Plus, with World Princesses Week kicking off tomorrow, there’s never been a better time to visit your favorite Disney Princess.
This change makes EPCOT the first Disney World park to completely do away with cavalcades as a whole. It will be interesting to see if other parks change to this model and offer more character interactions throughout the park, instead of just using cavalcades as the primary source of character integration into the parks.

We also recently reported that Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom is getting new signage, which could mean we’ll see characters returning to the scene soon. It’s purely speculative at this point, but it’s interesting to see the characters meet and greet the places cooling off ahead of the 50th anniversary celebration!
Are you sad to see the princess cavalcade leave EPCOT? Or would you rather see them around the World Showcase?
